Embracing Excellence from Within

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

We believe strongly in diversity and inclusion. We stand for equal opportunities and treatment for everyone, from their personal to professional development, including career advancement. We have created a DEI committee to steer the firm’s investments in DEI and pursue specific goals as part of the firm's strategic growth plan.

Advancing Women in Leadership (AWIL)

Our internal women’s committee, dedicated to increasing gender diversity in our management levels and providing women with equal opportunities for impact and influence throughout the firm and community. Check out our 2023 AWIL Annual Report. AWIL Goals

  • Foster a positive and inclusive work culture for women that values and leverages our women’s talents, voices and ideas.

  • Provide tailored career and business development opportunities available at each level to encourage women to have a greater presence in our organization and the industry.

  • Increase the number of women shareholders and women in leadership roles.

A Stigma-Free Workplace

We’ve partnered with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) to create a stigma-free workplace when it comes to discussing mental health issues.

Our executives and HR team regularly share valuable information with employees about caring for their mental, financial, and physical health. We believe work is only one part of the equation, and we strive to improve the lives of our employees in all areas.

Recruiting & Training Practices

CSH actively recruits at Historically Black Colleges and Universities within our region. We conduct internal training and seminars on gender and implicit bias to continue breaking down barriers.

Hiring Practices

We are committed to providing equal opportunity to all classes protected by federal, state, and local law. Employment-related decisions are made without regard to race, religion, color, national origin, sex, disability, age, military status, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, genetic information, or any other legally protected status. Equal employment opportunity includes, but is not limited to, recruitment, hiring, placement, compensation, training, promotion, transfer, demotion, and termination. Our employment objective is to select associates who meet high standards of personality, character, and occupational qualifications, who can carry on our work competently, have capacity for growth and will become a vital part of our organization.

Giving Back - Service to our Clients & Communities

We are passionate about serving both our clients and our communities. Every day, we aspire to create something remarkable with our clients and within the cities and neighborhoods where we live and work.

While it may seem like common sense to strive for consistently excellent and dependable client service, few firms have the right framework to make it happen. Strengthening our communities by giving back is just as important to us as it is to our employees, which is why we offer paid volunteer time.
